To all those that participated in making the 2009 Dress Giveaway a HUGE success thank your for all your support! The event was March 28th and so many girls went home with beautiful prom dresses!

I appreciate everyone's patience with the updating of the blog with the slide show! My dance studio is still in our first 9 months of being open and I have been pulled in so many directions!
As busy as I have been, I am SO glad we were able to band together as women in fashion to bring a great shopping experience to some fantastic girls in need! Some of these girls have been given a giant bag of lemons this year with family struggles and the ever pressing economical situation, thanks to the Give-A-Gown Foundation Volunteers, we were able to make the sweetest lemonade on the block and provide over 130 dresses for these lovely young women to choose from!

Nancy's Boutique in Scottsdale, at Shea and Scottsdale Rd, for some lovely gowns! April Bogue, manager of Nancy's, contacted us as soon as Spring hit this year! Thank you for the initiative and the fantastic selection!

Kristen and Blair Miloscia, the most fantastic teenagers in town! Not only did they donate dresses and volunteer last year, they collected dresses on their own at their high school for the Dress Giveaway! Check out the slide show, some dresses they wore for their OWN homecoming, some girls took home for prom this year! What a great moment!

Mikayla Hudson, Mackenzie Hudson, Maclaine Hudson (Mac1, 2 and 3), Lauren Gray, Lauren Hardesty, Cindy Roberson, Marianne Scotto and Susanne Leming for all your help during set up, tear down of the event and the glorious giving of the dresses! I could have never done it without you ladies!

If you are new to our organization, please read on and find out more about us! Dress donations accepted from February 18-March 27th.

What is Give-a-Gown Foundation?

MISSION:
The Give-a-Gown Foundation mission is in line with the efforts of the California based charity, The Princess Project, www.princessproject.org/princess. The confidence and renewed sense of self that comes from feeling beautiful in a dress provides the kind of hope to build these girls into self sufficient young women. The Princess Project promotes self-confidence and individual beauty by providing free prom dresses and accessories to high school girls who cannot otherwise afford them.

As you clean out your closets, think of Give-a-Gown Foundation and the new life and memories waiting to be breathed into your dresses and accessories. We are grateful to all of our donors! We particularly are in need of fancy jewelry, purses, wraps, and new or nearly new gowns in EXCELLENT condition in all fabrics, sizes, and colors.

HOW CAN WE HELP?
Donate your slightly used dresses, bridesmaid dresses or formal dresses, to the drop sites between February 18- March 27th.

ITEMS NEEDED:

-Formal dresses, bridesmaid dresses, prom dresses- ALL SIZES

-Formal accessories, purses, shoes and shawls

With the assistance of personal shoppers, girls can get the experience of shopping for their own gown!

We also need volunteers for the day of the Dress Giveaway Event to help check girls into the event, assist as a personal shopper for the girls to select a dress and provide support hosting the event.

DONATION GUIDELINES:
Dresses MUST be from 2002 to present.
Dresses MUST be dry-cleaned and on hangers.
Dresses MUST be prom dresses, formal gowns, or fancy party dresses.
Accessories MUST be stylish, clean, and in excellent condition.

PLEASE!!! No church dresses or old styles. We cannot accept dress suits. Items must be current and trendy!

Volunteers are needed for the following activities:

Need 10 volunteers
